somy 25 Posted December 26, 2017 Posted December 26, 2017 Hi, I'd like to report that auto rotation based on meta data works well for jpg files but not for Sony ARW raw files. Also photos displayed as covers of folders are not auto rotated (despite that they look fine inside the folder).
somy 25 Posted December 27, 2017 Author Posted December 27, 2017 (edited) Can you zip up a sample image? thanks. Hi Luke, thank you for your reply! Please see the jpg and arw raw files in "Test.zip" attached. Some jpg files are auto rotated when chosen as folder cover, others are not. The jpg from iPhone attached wasn't auto rotated, please see the screenshot below: When browsing the photo inside the folder, the jpg is apparently auto rotated though. I'm running Emby Version 3.2.60.2 beta for QNAP. Test.zip Edited December 27, 2017 by somy
Luke 42080 Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 The jpg is working fine for me using the latest beta. Please try this version: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/51334-new-qnap-package-for-testing/ Thanks.

Have you tried to put the jpg inside a folder and let Emby to generate thumbnail for the folder? In my case the jpg file itself is auto rotated, but if it is used as folder thumbnail it is not. Can you help to verify again?
Luke 42080 Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 ok that's different. we don't auto-rotate those because we don't scan those for photo characteristics. It's possible for the future, workaround for now is to save it pre-rotated. thanks.

Luke 42080 Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 I can confirm that, but we need to report that to our image library, SkiaSharp. Thanks.
somy 25 Posted December 27, 2017 Author Posted December 27, 2017 Understood, thanks for looking into it!
