Sølix 0 Posted December 25, 2017 Posted December 25, 2017 Hello all, I've recently been running into issues with my emby server on Windows 10. I've been using emby for a few months now and it has been fantastic, until recently. Within the last week or so I've been noticing what i believe is my emby server crashing. I watch my media on my Roku, and playback will just stop and say it can't establish a connection. When i check my pc I notice that the icon for emby is not present in my system tray, and ill have to launch the server again to resume playback. I originally believed this to possibly be an issue with my roku, but the server will randomly close when I'm not using my Roku. I uninstalled the one plugin i has installed recently, but the same thing happened again. I'm not sure what is going on, any help would be appreciated. I tried reading through the emby logs but made little sense of it. I noticed it said that it restarted because of being idle, but I was watching a movie in my living room at the time. I have attached the log below. Thanks in advance for the help, I just want my emby server to work properly again.

Luke 42085 Posted December 25, 2017 Posted December 25, 2017 Hi, did you forget to attach the log? Thanks !
Tur0k 148 Posted December 26, 2017 Posted December 26, 2017 (edited) I see you are running 3.2.36. I was on 3.2.36 and Windows 10 pro. I noticed similar behavior after I took the latest W10 update last week. I also noticed that Emby wouldn't list 3.2.60 as an available update. Today, I have installed 3.2.60, from the Emby.media download page, over my install. Seems to be working better. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Edited December 26, 2017 by Tur0k
Luke 42085 Posted December 26, 2017 Posted December 26, 2017 Yes we know where the crash is happening with 3.2.36. you won't see it with any version after that. Thanks.
Sølix 0 Posted December 26, 2017 Author Posted December 26, 2017 I updated Windows 10 last week too, and have been unlucky to notice my computer has been performing poorly since. I did notice that emby had the update which you speak of. I installed via the web page and it prompts me to restart server to complete installation, but it just gets stuck loading. I waited 30 minutes for it to finish and the server never restarted. I manually started my server and it tell me to restart. I was thinking of manually installing but didn't know if that would effect my server configurations and libraries.
Solution Luke 42085 Posted December 26, 2017 Solution Posted December 26, 2017 Please shut down emby server and download and install from the website and it will update on top of your existing version. Thanks. 2
Sølix 0 Posted December 27, 2017 Author Posted December 27, 2017 Thanks for the help! I haven't had any issues with Emby since the update .
Scrapbookee 1 Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 Thanks for the help, Luke! Always on top of the questions. I kept running into the issue of my Emby not restarting after updates, but I have closed the server and downloaded and installed from the website so I have the latest version now. Thanks again for all your hard work
