3.2.60.0 Update...

I have just had my server automatically do the update, it failed and would not do the restart after. I then attempted to update over the top this wiped out all of my config of my server and basically appeared like a fresh install.

Any ideas, how to get my config and setup back?

Thanks

I eventually rolled back to prior version from backup. Its the update process that fails. Just seems to hang during the restart. What are the directions for upgrading manually, as feel I should continue on the latest version. The first time I just downloaded directly from the website and ran it. This is what lead to the fresh install and loss of all config (libraries, users, etc..)

thanks

Had the same thing happen except it deleted the actual exe and never installed a new one. Now I can't launch the server, and downloading it again from the site crashed with an error. This is really not an acceptable user experience. I get it, things happen, but judging from all the issues posted here today I'd say this update was not tested very much, if at all. I see now that the release notes on the forums mention manual install over 3.2.36, but there's no reason most people would run to the forums to see if theres an issue installing this over their current version before hitting the update button. And even so, the last few updates were pushed out long before the release notes were posted so many would assume they wouldnt have even been there yet. This reminds me of some of the problems I had with Plex and thats why I switched to Emby in the first place.

If you guys are on Windows 7, please be sure your Windows updates are all up to date.

Once you've confirmed that, install using the website.

Thanks.

Are you sure you installed it as the same Windows user as before?

Completely sure. Only have one user on the system which auto logs in.

Did you uninstall the previous version or just install the new one over the top?

I haven't ever seen an instance of an installation over the top of an old one losing any configuration.

I think it stemmed from the failed auto update, then just tried a reinstall direct from the website. I did not remove the old version.

Will try after the holiday period as have a backup to fall back on if all goes wrong :-)

All you need to do is shutdown emby server and run the installer from the website on top of your existing version. please let us know if this helps. thanks.

Not working for me either on Server 2012 R2, installer just appears to hang on "downloading" I don't get any errors or anything just never progresses.

Disregard, I let it sit and it finally completed, took a long time thought it seemed intsalls are usually very fast on my server for Emby 1 minute to 90 seconds at most, this was 5-10 minutes.

The download is a bit larger than it used to be so it will take longer. Thanks.

5a40ec0793f9b_Screenie.jpgI am also having trouble with this.  I have included all recent server logs and a screen shot that shows the looking for updates reaches over 180% well it goes to 200% then crashes the server but took the screen at 180 to show that it is actually happening.

Edit:  I have finally updated this.  After many attempts of installing from website it looks to have updated and now stable.  I have attached the latest log as well

Hi @@Sayan, what version of windows are you running?

Posted (edited)

I was on 3.2.36. The server app would always say it was fully up to date. Also it would randomly stop overnight. All this started around the time I took the major M$ update for W10 pro. I just downloaded and installed the latest full client from Emby.media. I am now on 3.2.60. I will report back what I find.
