runtimesandbox 171 Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 I see that netcore for Windows is now in stable. I'd like to switch from using net framework to net core on my Windows server 2016 emby server. What is the process for switching over? I have install net core 2.0, how do I tell if emby is using net core or net framework?
CBers 7474 Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 Shutdown Emby server, download the latest Stable release from the Emby website and install. Most plugins are compatible, but some still aren't, including @@radeon's plugins. Any issues, remove plugins and re-add one at a time. Report back here your experience.
runtimesandbox 171 Posted December 23, 2017 Author Posted December 23, 2017 All seems to be working without issue.. only have 4 plugins but they are working as far as i can tell. Do i assume I am now using netcore? is there an indicator in emby that its running on .netcore?
Luke 42086 Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 There is no indicator because we don't want the end user to have to worry about something like this.

overClocked! 65 Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 I think people just want to know. Advanced users certainly will. I agree with this. It is useful information to have when self-troubleshooting.
Luke 42086 Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 If you're on windows and running the latest release then the answer is yes because that's the only way it is available.
