GHynson 9 Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 Is there a way to downgrade back to 3.2.36.0? I've had no issues running 3.2.36.0, as soon as I restarted to upgrade to 3.2.60.0, the emby server kept crashing. After awhile it at least got to the manage server page. But now I get a "no compatible streams" error when trying to play a movie. Is there a older builds page to get 3.2.36.0 back? Thanks,
GHynson 9 Posted December 23, 2017 Author Posted December 23, 2017 Never mind, found the builds page.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 Note there may/is plugin compatibilities between those versions.
ebr 16169 Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 Your problems were more than likely related to plug-ins. I would investigate that so that you can get on the newer version as other problems will be sure to crop up if you stay behind. Thanks.
GHynson 9 Posted December 24, 2017 Author Posted December 24, 2017 3.2.60.0 does not like my system,.. I don't have any plug-ins, it's just a default Emby server. It works fine prior to the .60 patch. I'll just wait for the next version and see if it's better.
Luke 42077 Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 hi @@GHynson, depending on how old of a version you just updated from, it's because the plugins aren't compatible and need to be installed again to get their latest versions. thanks.
moviefan 187 Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 I have the same problem with .60. I do have plugins, but if @@GHynson has a default install and is seeing the same behavior, let's troubleshoot that setup first. Can you send your logs?
Luke 42077 Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 Until I see otherwise I don't think there's anything to troubleshoot. I think he just needs to use the plugin catalog to install the latest versions of his plugins.
Ballistic 8 Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 The new 3.2.60 update is absolutely horrible. After the shitty upgrade process there are also issues scanning the media library and all sort of other weird issues and stability troubles. This update should really be retracted a.s.a.p.! Thanks fck i run it in a VM and i made a snapshop of 3.2.26.

Thanks fck i run it in a VM and i made a snapshop of 3.2.26. Hmm that's a first. Absolutely no issues here . But without information we can't help. You need to update to the new net core version and provide logs of the issue you are having.
GHynson 9 Posted December 24, 2017 Author Posted December 24, 2017 All, First off, "I DO NOT HAVE ANY PLUG-INS INSTALLED". I managed to fix the crash/stream error by reverting back to .36 and then doing incremental upgrades. If you've already upgraded to .60, then download the .36 build from the git hub page and copy the System Folder into your existing emby install location. (Overwrite the files if asked) DO NOT reset the emby server at this time, or it will try and update to .60 again. Then download the .40 build and copy the System Folder again over .36, Then the same with the .50 build. From the .50 version, do the regular reboot and let emby update from the manage sever page. Everything should work fine after that, as my system is updated to .60 and is working fine now. I guess emby doesn't like making a big version jump from .36 to .60. Also, if you're having trouble with the media scanner constantly changing your custom posters, even after you've set the lock settings in the edit info section. You can use the old school "Attrib +R" command to lock your folders/files into read only mode. This will prevent Emby from writing over your locked files. 1
Luke 42077 Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 Ok sorry about the plugin advice. The screenshot you showed earlier led me to believe you were having a problem with plugins.

I'm having some weird issues with the latest version that I don't feel like troubleshooting right now, it would be easier and quicker for me to uninstall 3.2.60.0, install 3.2.36.0 and rebuild my library/users/etc. Thanks! Found it here: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby/releases/tag/3.2.36.0 I tried the method detailed above that to ''revert'', so to speak, Emby Server back to 3.2.36.0, to no avai. I went ahead and uninstalled 3.2.60.0 with the ''remove all traces'' checkbox checked. I went ahead and installed a fresh version of 3.2.60.0, and I'm still having some issues. I'm begging the devs or anyone - can I just please have the 3.2.36.0 installation file so I can quickly rebuild my Emby Server? I hate to sound like a whiner, but I don't have the time to troubleshoot, send logs, keep posting, etc. I just want my old, working Emby Server back. Thanks!
GHynson 9 Posted December 26, 2017 Author Posted December 26, 2017 @JBL You can just copy the .36 System folder over the .60 release. Then restart your emby server. It should come back up as 3.2.36.0 release. At least that what it did with me, then I just copied over the system folder again from each incremental build. -GHynson
alekdavis 2 Posted December 26, 2017 Posted December 26, 2017 (edited) I also have no plugins installed and the server just crashed while we were watching a movie (via the browser app). It was playing fine and then the screen went blank and after I moved the mouse, the playback stopped and I could not resume nor load it from any other browser (it would still show the library, though). The Emby process was still showing in the icon in the status bar as if it were running. Restarting it did not help. I ended up playing the movie directly from the NAS share using the default Windows 10 Video app. Emby was a fresh install of 3.2.60.0 (not an upgrade). UPDATE: Actually, this may not even be the Emby issue. Looks like Plex also had a problem. Could've been some network issue. Edited December 26, 2017 by alekdavis

Ballistic 8 Posted January 2, 2018 Posted January 2, 2018 Luke.. Again; Pull back the update man!! You obviously see that this release is causing alot of problems for alot of folks. I understand that you want logs and stuff but this is not the right way to handle this. Release test and troubleshoot this stuff in a beta stage first before releasing it to the public. You are giving us administrators and users of Emby a lot of hassle.
