wp.rauchholz 5 Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 As topic title says... I reviewed the logs and it givens an error. There ase error messages which I believe are not related to crashing. 2017-12-21 11:15:55.997 Info HttpServer: HTTP GET https://www.wo-lar.com:8920/emby/Sessions/Capabilities/Full. dcrdev 255 Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 Looks like a possible memory problem - the next time it crashes, run: sudo lsof -p In regards to the permission problems - why are you mounting your media in /home/media? The /home directory in Linux has special acls that make it unsuited for anything apart from home directories; mount your media somewhere more reasonable like /mnt/media or /my_media .
wp.rauchholz 5 Posted December 21, 2017 Author Posted December 21, 2017 The media is mounted in home it is residing there. All other partitions don't have enough space. I am not expert enough to play around with partitions in a live system, This does not mean I couldn't move everything to an external drive. But what about response time when reading/writing from/to an external system?
dcrdev 255 Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 Ok - I'm not necessarily saying it needs to go on an external drive. Can you not just reduce the /home partition and expand the / partition? If you're using logical volume management (lvm) this is easy. In any case it's not the permission issue that's causing your crash. Like I said - runt he above command just after a crash and let us know the output. It smells very much like the kernel killing one of Mono's threads due to being out of memory. 1
