lolento 1 Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 I'm on build 3.0.5171.19958. I am seeing that if I manually run a scan media library, real time monitoring would work for may be 30min to an hour after the manual scan. After that, nothing happens when I add files to my media library.
Logos302 86 Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 They are going to need a little bit more details as it sounds like the server isn't getting the signal from the os that something has changed on the disk. Where is the data, what OS, etc as well as a server log.
ebr 16169 Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 What is the OS of the file system where the media resides and where are you adding new files? i.e - are they movies at a top level or individual episodes way down a directory tree? Two things could be happening here: 1) if your media file system OS is linux-based, it will not provide any notification of changes that are made down the subtree of a share. This is simply how it is designed. 2) even if the mods are being made at a top level, the directory monitoring functionality is not always reliable across networks and different OSes. That is why we also do periodic library scans.
lolento 1 Posted March 9, 2014 Author Posted March 9, 2014 Thanks guys, The problem seem to have gone after I restarted the server.
