Hey guys,

Having problems casting to a Nexus Player and a Chromecast from an emby server installed on a Raspberry Pi3, which has DietPi installed.

If I leave both selected in the User page:

Allow audio playback that requires transcoding

Allow video playback that requires transcoding

-> then video doesn't even start. Tv shows the picture of the video, but it doesn't start playing

If I unselect:
Allow video playback that requires transcoding
-> then video and audio is working, but the playback stop every other 10 seconds for 1 second or two, making the viewing impossible

If I unselect both:
-> video plays, but audio doesn't

Added logs from ffmpeg - hope they help.

AC3 -> AAC, which your pi can't keep up with.  Get a better server or ecnode your stuff so it direct plays on *all* your devices.

Chromecast can handle AC3 directly but only in passthrough mode, so in addition to the above device, if you hook your nexus player up to an audio system that can handle AC3, then Chromecast can pass it through directly.

Have these responses helped answer your question?

Would an Asus Tinker Board which has a Rockchip RK3288 clocked at 1.8Ghz handle this AC3 -> AAC transcoding better? Keep in mind that I do not use any other type of transcoding and I just want to directplay content on the local network to several devices including being able to cast to my Chromecast and NP.

Yes I would imagine that would be better.
