CharleyVarrick 283 Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 As title implies, everyday when I fire up Kodi, it shows processing updates for new stuff (a library at a time) and then always the same group of 17 media files. (I recognize the same media file names being listed) My bi-weekly backups confirms the same 17 NFO's file being processed/updated just enough that they are considered modified files. It has always been happening since day 1. I've seen this happen to others here. Any ideas why it does that, and if there's a way to fix it?
CharleyVarrick 283 Posted December 17, 2017 Author Posted December 17, 2017 (edited) Sure, so everyday, the 1st time I open Kodi (running Emby), after a few seconds, I see the "welcome to emby" thing on bottom right, followed soon after by another box on top right that goes thru updates (new media). It seems to go thru all libraries, one after the other, with a message "processing updates", I see the number of updates for each libraries, and also which specific media file is being processed. The portion I refer to is always in tv series, and invariably list the same episode's name, day after day after day. There's nothing happening to those files as far as I'm concerned, they're not current shows, and no I haven't played them. Because it is Kodi's behavior to process updates on system startup (and display the progress if more than 10 files are involved, I believe), one could be tempted to believe its a Kodi thing, but again, when I do my server backup, I notice the same .NFO's filename being reported as modified. If I would do daily backups (which I should), I would probably endup with 7 different nfo per week for those always the same 17 media files. I know tvdb updates their info once in a while, but not everyday, especially not for older stuff. Edited December 17, 2017 by jlr19
