GhostRider 49 Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 What is .net core version of Emby Server please? I see references to this on the forums. I am currently running V 3.2.32 of Emby server on a WIndows 10 Creators Fall Edition PC. Will updating to version 3.2.50 change me over to the .net core version of Emby Server? Key requirement for me is Raedon's plugins so happy to wait for these to be updated before updating to .net core.
CBers 7451 Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 If you download the latest Stable release (v3.2.50) from the website and install, you will get the .net core version. I don't believe @@radeon's plugins are available yet for the .net core environment. 1
GhostRider 49 Posted December 17, 2017 Author Posted December 17, 2017 Thanks CBers, I believe over in the Plugins forum Radeon explained an ETA of January for his plugins to work with the .net core version. As such I'll stick with my V 3.2.32 for now. I understand the .net core is a major change, is this just in how the program is developed i.e. it now uses .net or are there a lot of new features as well?
CBers 7451 Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 Your version utilises .net framework, whereas the newer version uses .net core, which is leaner and so faster. 2
