Can someone suggest an easy to use emby client device ( ie fire stick, roku ) that can resize a picture to fit the tv?

I have a amazon fire tv but i have found that some channels like disneyjr dont seem to have a HD channel in my market. When i watch SD programming the screen shrinks a very noticeable amount. My tv is a 42 inch but when watching sd its more like 30.

I do need to stick to the more conventional devices like a roku or fire because it needs to be easy enough for my wife to operate without me showing her.

You sure its the box not some server / TV interface (Homerun / NextPVR whatever) thing. We play SD TV here (DVB-S / NextPVR and Fire TV box) and it uses the whole screen.

I do not know, there aren't many options to mess with. I use a hdhr prime.

Would like one of those, they just won't do a satellite version.

Could you try using a plug-in, or maybe NextPVR standalone to see if it helps ?

Might not of course. If it makes things worse I shall of course deny all responsibility  :)

I think most of our tv apps have zoom settings you could use.

There is, but for me for whatever zoom doesnt zoom, it just moves the picture to the left a bit. I believe ebr tested this out on his end though and could not re-produce it.

Are there logs that would help on this?

I have attached some pictures of what the different zoom selections do for me and a picture of the resolution the tv is reading, which is 1080 / 60 but that seems to be mostly irrelevant because programs that are transmitted in hd fill the screen.

Does your TV itself have any aspect ratio controls that would help?

That's going to produce problems with the OSD of course but may be better than what you have.

I'll do more testing on the Fire.  Perhaps the zoom issue is restricted to it somehow (it is running a different version of Android than everything else).

The tv does have a aspect control. Right now its set to full. The other options are point to point and 4:3 both of them make the picture smaller.

Also not sure if its relevant but i am using a fire tv on this tv. I havent tested much with the fire stick i have since that is on the bedroom tv and not used a lot.

The video also says interlaced video not supported not sure if thats messing with the sizing and or zoom.
