Channels Logo Size

Hey guys,

Is there a specific size for the channel logos? I need to resize but I don't know the width and length to crop them to.

No specific size. The server will resize as needed, thanks.

Right. That is what I noticed. It is not resizing. It is cropping which is not ideal since it is cutting parts of the logos. I have a logo that reads ABC HD. Emby cuts out the ABC part and only leave HD. The Channel is called ABC. HD doesn't tell me much.

Thanks for the quick response by the way.

Hi,

I guess a question also is whether all the api's do as well? I will resize them if not, no problem.

This is ember,

ember should probably set a max width on the requested image to prevent that.

I think fit to size is what Emby should use instead of cropping. That way the image stays the same without losing aspect ratio or get cut.

Great. When you do, please do update this thread if you don't mine. For now i'll leave channel logos alone and do it when the change has been committed.

Thumbs up

Yes, Ember uses a max-height only. I'll add a MaxWidth as well

Interestingly it was your feedback that led us into doing it in the first place.

Why not with SD? Do the logos from them already fit or something?

because in general we can predict that the SD logos have a lot of whitespace around them.

I think we should just ignore who the logo is from. Set a width and height. Fit the logo into that span without resizing it. That way it looks the same doesn't matter if there are whitespaces or not.

If we did that you'd get either chopped off logos or tiny ones you can't see with a lot of sources.

Setting a max container size in the apps and the properly sizing the logo to fit in it is the proper course here.
