I have an issue with my metadata but only the people metadata it is going in a different location then the rest of the metadata.. I can  only guess that I messed up that setting somehow.. so can someone help me find that setting and what is its default location supposed to be?

Any idea why my people metadata is going to a different location then the rest of my metadata?

I'm assuming you've opted to save metadata with media? My guess would be to avoid the redundancy of storing a copy of a person in every movie/show they've appeared in?

If I've assumed incorrectly, could you please describe your configuration in more detail?

All good points but  okay.. when I first setup Emby I had the metadata going into a special directory.. I then decided that was unnecessary so I cleared that setting deleted the metadata in that directory.. then I told emby to re download all metadata

which it did.. all metadata went to the system folder...except the people metadata it went to the old directory that I used to have set..  however its been fixed I again told it to put the metadata into  the Emby system folder and this time it stuck

Thanks for the help:)

If you are actually using the Emby SYSTEM folder that is a bad idea as it gets replaced with every update.

I'm sorry - but I''m confused.

I am of the impression that people metadata, ie. person.xml is not used anymore.

At least that changes in these files are not read by Emby.

Not much benefit in saving in that case .

How 'bout the person image?

person images are certainly used.

Exactly my point. Poster seemed to imply 'people metadata' was only the 'person.xml'.
