Only shows first 500 images.

I have several libraries with more than 500 pictures.
Problem is that when I try to display these images it works well up till (and including) image 500.
On trying to display next picture, it goes back to the first image in the library.
If I try directly to display image 501, it display image #1.
I have tried to rescan all libraries, but this doesn't change anything.
Suggestions?
BTW this occurs not only with web apps, but also on Emby for Android and IOS.
