Cannot download/install Emby Server

On Windows 7 x64, I'm trying to run the installer and nothing happens. It just sits there at "Downloading Emby Server (version 3.2.50.0)". After about 5 minutes I receive the error message:

Error Downloading Package. There may be a problem communicating with the update server. Please try again. 

System.Net.WebException
An exception occurred during a WebClient request.

I've turned off my firewall and virus protection but that didn't help either. If I go to the GitHub page I can download any file directly without any problems. I'm on a 150Mbps connection and they download really fast. I'd prefer to use the installer though instead of the portable zip files.

It's a large download. It's probably just timing out. I would try it again later. Thanks.

Isn't it only like 85MB zipped? I was under the impression that the Installer gets the files directly from GitHub and I was able to do that and it downloaded in just a few seconds. The progress bar doesn't even fill up at all when I use the installer.

yea that's all it does is download from github.

Strange then that it would constantly time out when I can download the same file from GitHub directly in a few seconds. I've been trying to use the installer for over an hour now with the same result.

I’m getting the same issue. Trying to install on a rebuilt machine.

It finally worked for me late last night. Still don't know why it wasn't working before then though.

Still been trying this morning and getting the error message. I do have slow internet. Nothing I can do about that.

Finally got it to download. Took hours but that’s my connection.
