The future is now, i've tested the new release (v3.50), trying to loading a subtitle with .strm and nothing, tried everything, downloaded a subtitle from emby web interface and local with VLC (plug VLSub) and then play in both: emby player and vlc player, none of the two load auto the subtitle, but when i select manually the subtitle in VLC, it works well, and trying the same thing in emby web, nothing works. I also have this problem, the thing i point is: when I enable transcoding (4 marked option) the subtitle loads but, transcoding and my hardware ir poor, i got 2 blue screens after 1 transcoding.. so i'm very interested in a solution for that, 'cause dont, i'll have to convert every single file to embed the subtitle on them,,, that will cause a lot of frustation on my library (40 anime series at 1080p).

I just tested, and all my .strm files are not loading the .srt caption, I'm really annoyed with that.

@ Luke, look very carefully to people the solution, we use this function a lot, I do not use transcoding, because all my connected clients transcoding will terminate my cpu.

I have already checked all my files and I have read the two forums on this subject and have already checked the wiki about file format compatibility.

I looked at everything carefully. Before all the subtitles worked with strm without transcofificar, but now everything is a chaos here.

All my strm are h.264 with aac audio and with the .srt caption inside the folder with the same name as the video file en is not loaded.

Please come back as it was before, everything was perfect.

Returning to the subject, I've also been able to display captions with transcoding, but that's not what we want to have, as this drops the emby server.

It really is very important that Emby can re-display the subtitles of STRM files without having to mark the 4 options on transcoding.

The idea of embedding subtitles in files is impractical. I look forward to the solution.
