ucjb 14 Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 (edited) I am getting an error when updating Windows 3.2.36 to 3.2.50. "Could not move system directory to backup" Edited December 6, 2017 by ucjb
ebr 16199 Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 Restart your machine. Or, if you don't want to do that, be sure the server is not running and there are no stranded ffmpeg processes.
ucjb 14 Posted December 6, 2017 Author Posted December 6, 2017 I restarted it still same error. What is happening with these updates?
ucjb 14 Posted December 6, 2017 Author Posted December 6, 2017 I finally got it installed by running it as admin.
Luke 42089 Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 In that case it is related to security settings of the folder so we can conclude that nothing wrong is happening with these updates.
ucjb 14 Posted December 6, 2017 Author Posted December 6, 2017 Probably true. But the other versions installed without issue?
Happy2Play 9785 Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 I had the same thing happen. It hasn't happened in quite awhile but it was just the "exe" process not shutting down in a timely manner. Ensuring the process had died off, updated without any issue.
Dibbes 514 Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 (edited) Stop the service (or tray app), rename the %AppData%\Roaming\Emby-Server\system folder to system.old and run the installer. Then it will install even if there is still an orphaned ffmpeg running (at least with this install) Edited December 6, 2017 by Dibbes
