What is the source of your recordings (using an external service)?

All are done using built in pvr

With Schedules Direct as your guide provider?

Posted (edited)

No schedules direct in Australia I use icetv.

In latest recording all those images are automatically downloaded by emby using tvdb. Having a close look at the thumbnails in roku, the recordings thumbnails could all be from the guide data provider.

These are recordings though, so at this point they're just regular library items.

When you go into the recordings library and click on edit images it has the image that roku displays but I can't see the picture of the ship that I see using web client, ipad, android.

because the thumb is inherited from the series or season.

The issue is the Roku is preferring thumb images for TV and you don't have any.  I'll have to see if anything can be done to adjust to the unexpected shape of the image it ends up with.

One thing you could do that may make it look a little better (will still not be perfect) is to enable the "Enhanced Images" option in the app.  This will make it stop stretching them.

It is better with that option but it is not perfect as you said.
