yokomoto 0 Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 Good day, Looking for a way to have the Emby server list movies without utilizing ‘The’ when it is the first word in the title of a movie. Currently I am seeing all the movies with this first word in them under ‘T’, however in the past with other media applications they chose to use the following word. For example “The cat in the hat” would be under ‘C’, “The 10 Mile” would be under ‘10’, etc… How do I go about setting EMBY to perform this function? Thank you!
arrbee99 1817 Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 Seems to work fine for me - The Magnificent Seven is under M, etc. Not sure how to fix it though. Had a quick look and couldn't spot an option, which either means I missed it or there isn't one and it should be automatic. Is Emby collecting metadata OK for your movies ?
Happy2Play 9785 Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 Emby already does this, unless there is a "Sort Title". <SortRemoveWords> <string>the</string> <string>a</string> <string>an</string> </SortRemoveWords> So you would need to give a specific example of your issue.
dansblackcat 37 Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 I haven't read the whole thread by maybe there's an answer here for you? https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/22711-additional-articles-a-an-the-sorting-toggle/
Luke 42089 Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 It sounds like maybe you have your own nfo metadata files, and they contain a pre-defined sort title. is that correct?
