elenev 0 Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 Hi all,I am combining a couple of external HDs into one larger capacity one and have to move the folders in my emby library. I store metadata in those folders, so I understand the standard advice would be to (1) copy the files, (2) add the new folder to emby, (3) remove the old folder from emby, and (4) let emby quickly re-process the files. While this does go fairly quickly and preserves watched status, it does not preserve "date added." This is a problem for me because that's my standard sort. I like being able to see most recently added stuff first because that's what I'm most likely to want to watch. Is there any way to relocate the library directories while preserving date added? Re-defining date added to be file created date would help a bit but wouldn't be perfect and would still effectively lead to a loss of the currently stored "Date added" metadata? I'd like a full-proof way, if at all possible.Any ideas?
Luke 42089 Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 Hi, actually this will preserve date added because the added value is kept in the nfo metadata. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks !
elenev 0 Posted December 8, 2017 Author Posted December 8, 2017 I did it with one of my folders and it reordered everything alphabetically even though it’s technically ordered by Date Added. Actually, it’s stranger than that. First few, the numbered ones, are ordered alphabetically but then it goes back to my most recently added. What gives?
Luke 42089 Posted December 8, 2017 Posted December 8, 2017 where exactly are you talking about? can you show a screenshot? thanks.
