BenDover 3 Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 Guys, I have mythbusters but for some reason it keeps putting it in different metadata "folders".. See attached screenshot. I've tried to move it from the library its in to another, but no luck. I've tried removing all the metadata in the main "mythbusters" folder and all subsequent folders but it still comes back the same. I recall that some of the metadata might be put in the default location in appdata\roaming, but i don't know how to find it. All the other shows are good except this, and every time the library scans it seems to re-find mythbusters again. Help
Luke 42079 Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 what do you mean by metadata folder? i'm unclear as to what problem you're experiencing. thanks.
BenDover 3 Posted December 5, 2017 Author Posted December 5, 2017 Sorry, What i mean is that its identifying all the folders in the mythbusters directory as Season 5 of Mythbusters, Season 3 of mythbusters, and then "who are you: School 2015". If you look at the way the folders are structured, it appears that i have it correctly. i was trying to remove all the metadata for this TV show, but i was thinking that there might be some metadata left over in the appdata folder. I already deleted all the metadata from the Mythbusters directory itself. Does that make more sense?
BenDover 3 Posted December 5, 2017 Author Posted December 5, 2017 The first season of Mythbusters. 1x01 - Pilot 1 Rocket-Assisted Chevy, Pop Rocks and Soda etc.
Luke 42079 Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 can we see a screenshot? also how did you set this up in emby library setup? what folder did you add and what content type? thanks.
BenDover 3 Posted December 5, 2017 Author Posted December 5, 2017 Type: TV Root of TV shows folder is what the library is pointed at. Settings attached. I was thinking maybe overtime its stuck in the library somewhere and won't remove?
Luke 42079 Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 Can we see the complete contents instead of just that snippet? thanks.
BenDover 3 Posted December 5, 2017 Author Posted December 5, 2017 I think you meant the whole window for that first season.. if so, heres the whole window.
Luke 42079 Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 How does it look when browsing the library section of the web app?
BenDover 3 Posted December 5, 2017 Author Posted December 5, 2017 Image number 6 is both Posters that are Mythbusters 6-1.jpg is the seasons inside the first poster in image 6 on the left 6-2.jpg is the seasons inside the second poster in the image 6 on the right.

Luke 42079 Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 Image number 6 is both Posters that are Mythbusters 6-1.jpg is the seasons inside the first poster in image 6 on the left 6-2.jpg is the seasons inside the second poster in the image 6 on the right. Unfortunately with these snippets it's hard to understand the whole picture of what's going on. can you show screenshots that include the entire page contents? thanks.
ClassH 0 Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 (edited) I'll hop in here and give you a reference for the way Emby is correctly working on my machine for this. At some point the TVDB switched from seasons to years for Mythbusters. I am guessing his wont pick up the new settings and keeps loading the old for some reason even though his folders seem to be correctly named. Attached is how mine picked up after naming the folders by years. Edited December 5, 2017 by ClassH
BenDover 3 Posted December 5, 2017 Author Posted December 5, 2017 (edited) OK, I'll try and explain it maybe a bit differently. Its hard to get those gigantic snippets. image 6.jpg is a library image where you go down to the M's and the two mythbuster posters are next to each other. The first contains a lot of the seasons but have problems of their own and the second with the orange background with "MythBusters" in white lettering has one season by itself. If you look at 6-1.jpg, we're currently looking at seasons, 1, 2, 4-12,14. If you look after the season 2 poster, there is no season 3 which will be found in the second folder (Orange background White Lettering with the word "Mythbusters"). The rest of the seasons up until we hit season 13 are listed with what i believe is the correct metadata. In image 6-2.jpg, we only have season 3. For some reason this decided it was going to separate itself from the others. Season 13 got classified as "Who are you: School 2015".. Edited December 5, 2017 by BenDover
Happy2Play 9780 Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 Do you have show hidden folders enabled on your OS? Another issue is you have a season folder of 2013 (by year) but episodes named 1x01 that should be 2013x01.
BenDover 3 Posted December 5, 2017 Author Posted December 5, 2017 it was originally season 1-15 then tvdb renamed it. Classh has the same and his seems ok mostly
Luke 42079 Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 Do you have show hidden folders enabled on your OS? Another issue is you have a season folder of 2013 (by year) but episodes named 1x01 that should be 2013x01. He's right, this is bound to cause an issue. The season number of the episodes should match the season number of the season folder. Please ensure this is the case. You can do this in emby server if you want with the metadata editor, but i would suggest going the more permanent route and renaming the files.
BenDover 3 Posted December 6, 2017 Author Posted December 6, 2017 Alright. I did that. Changed them all from 1x01 to 2003x01 down the line. Web Interface shows them correctly per screenshot below. However, whenever i look on the classic client or from metadata manager, it still shows me Mythbusters -- | Mythbusters -- Season 2006 None of the other seasons show up. See AfterRename2.png for what i'm looking at in Metadata manager.
BenDover 3 Posted December 6, 2017 Author Posted December 6, 2017 (edited) I used a program to rename all the files with the appropriate season they're in. Then i did a rescan of the library. is that what you were looking for? Edited December 6, 2017 by BenDover
BenDover 3 Posted December 7, 2017 Author Posted December 7, 2017 Also, I noticed that when you look at newly added in classic EMBY client, there are a bunch of new items that have no posted but only the outline of the poster, if i go into them, they are the seasons of mytbusters. However, if i go to the TV library those blank poster folders do not even show up.
Luke 42079 Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 Hi, your folder names are bound to cause an issue. The season number of the episodes should match the season number of the season folder. Please ensure this is the case. You can do this in emby server if you want with the metadata editor, but i would suggest going the more permanent route and renaming the files.
