vangeliis 8 Posted November 28, 2017 Posted November 28, 2017 (edited) Hi @@Luke, I noticed you are working on DLNA profiles in the latest beta. Just to let you know after thorough testing my NetCast LG TV (2013) supports direct play for H.264/High@5.1Level and 50FPS in both mp4/m4v and mkv containers. You may want to update the default DLNA profile with the above settings. HTH Vangeliis Edited November 28, 2017 by vangeliis
dirkdigs 10 Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 hi my 2017 LG OLED can play all file types natively why is it using "direct streaming" how can i force it to use "direct play" do i need to force it to play over dlna ?
Luke 42077 Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 @@dirkdigs let's look at an example. please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. thanks !
vtochq 0 Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 Hi. Thanks for emby. I try to play h264 50fps video on my LG UH610v. Serviio plays it without transcoding, but Emby start transcode. I find LG Profile setting: ... <DirectPlayProfiles> <DirectPlayProfile container="" audioCodec="" videoCodec="" type="Video" /> ... <CodecProfile type="Video" codec="h264"> <Conditions> ... <ProfileCondition condition="LessThanEqual" property="VideoFramerate" value="30" isRequired="true" /> ... When I remove this ProfileCondition my TV don't show me this video in videos list (native LG DLNA app). Why? How Emby knows that my TV don't support 50 fps? PS (offtopic) I test LG UH610 with FLAC and it works without transcoding, but official TV specification says that it don't supports. Also when I try to transcode audio to wav or flac Emby don't add file extension (.wav/.flac) to output file in ffmpeg command and ffmpeg say that it can't determine output format. How say emby to specify format or add extension to file?

vtochq 0 Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 Hi vtochq See what happens when you change the "VideoFramerate" value="30" to "VideoFramerate" value="50". Same result. Video disappear from list if value >= 50.
Luke 42077 Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 You want to transcode lossy audio such as mp3 to flac/wav on the fly?
Luke 42077 Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 Hi vtochq See what happens when you change the "VideoFramerate" value="30" to "VideoFramerate" value="50". Most likely because the TV doesn't like something about the media info we're supplying.
vtochq 0 Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 You want to transcode lossy audio such as mp3 to flac/wav on the fly? No, just transcode other loseless (like ape) to wav or flac. But it's not critical, i can listen mp3 368kbps with same result

vtochq 0 Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 Ok, i have direct play of this file working for the next release, thanks. Thanks. But if not secret, what is the reason?
Luke 42077 Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 It's not showing up due to the content-type response header, which for lg needs to be video/mpeg. make sure to delete your custom profile with the next release. thanks.
vtochq 0 Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 Thank you! And last question about LG TV App. Why when I use App emby transcode almost all movies? Which profile used when I use LG App?
Luke 42077 Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 Probably because the profile is built for older LG's.
