After searching and reading a few threads.. the same issue I'm posting about was posted here before: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/48072-xbox-controller-controls-emby-when-not-focused/

Ultimately, what this comes down to, is the ability to play a game, lets say, Rocket League, whilst using Emby to stream a music playlist on the same PC that both use the same controller.

CURRENTLY

If you run ANY game that utilizes a connected controller (in this case an XB1 controller) whilst trying to run Emby Theater OR Emby (via web browser) all controller inputs will default back to the player whether it has focus or not.

So, if you like to play a game via a controller while listening to your emby music library or even playing a tv show on an extended monitor... Emby will not let you. Everytime you push the "A" button, Emby will Pause the media you're in listening/viewing instead of recognizing the "a" button press. (Load up Emby theater, start a music playlist.. now load and join a Rocket League game...  All controller motions will result in Emby detection....)

Currently the only solution that will let you play a controller based game, along with emby playing is to load the video into VLC and skip/ignore the Emby server completely.

Obviously this isnt a real workaround but for now, it is the best we are given with Emby.

Emby Devs.. I Challenge you to find a better workaround... or better yet.. fix this problem that was reported to you six months ago.
