ServerGuy 24 Posted November 26, 2017 Posted November 26, 2017 Having an odd issue. In multiple libraries, certain poster images are not displaying, however if you drill into a movie, the image displays on the page. The image also displays on the edit image selection screen and is present in the metadata folder. The only way I can get the image to display within the library is to edit images, search for the image, and click the download icon. Then after refreshing the library page, the image displays correctly. Attached are two images One named nonworking, is the original image in the metadata folder that does not display. The other named working, is the image after I went through the procedure above Here is what Ive done to get images to display: Refresh metadata, including checking the replace image checkbox (no effect) Rescanned library (no effect) Deleted the image from the folder and refreshed (no effect) Deleted the item specific metadata folder and rescanned (no effect) Restarted the server (no effect) Edit images, search for the image, and click the download icon. Then refresh the library page, the image then displays correctly. I am running the most current version (.40) Also attached are examples of another movie doing the same thing. I would estimate around 20-30 percent of my movies are doing this (around 500, so way too many to fix manually in the procedure above) Metadata manager also shows that it is not missing images
ServerGuy 24 Posted November 26, 2017 Author Posted November 26, 2017 Old ones, the first example images were added in March. One new discovery, after updating from .36 to .40 and forcing a metadata refresh per item seems to replace the images now. I will test this against an entire library.
ServerGuy 24 Posted November 26, 2017 Author Posted November 26, 2017 Update: running against a small library didnt replace the images, also, running it against an individual series had no effect within that library.
Luke 42080 Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 Thanks. In the earlier case it may have just been slow to create the thumbnail or our image processing library may have had a problem with that particular image file.
ServerGuy 24 Posted November 27, 2017 Author Posted November 27, 2017 So as it sits right now, I kicked off a manual refresh of a single item which didn't refill the primary image, a manual refresh of the entire library had the same result. Redownloading the image through the image search dialog still works as a workaround
Happy2Play 9782 Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 To me it sounds like a issue in the browser cache.
ServerGuy 24 Posted November 27, 2017 Author Posted November 27, 2017 I get the same results in the app as well (see attached)
ServerGuy 24 Posted November 27, 2017 Author Posted November 27, 2017 Update: This morning, all images are displaying..However, after having kicked off a metadata refresh for the entire library yesterday, I ended up with some movies that had incorrect dates and were not pulling metadata information. So, i corrected the release dates on the files themselves and kicked off a library scan. 2 of the 3 movies i corrected came up fine, but one of them is showing the issue again.. Forcing another metadata refresh on the item missing an image did not correct the issue, and this movie is exhibiting the same issue as before. All images display when you drill into the movie, but not on the main selection screen or within the library However! The image does display correctly within the Emby Android App (which is different than before) I also tried it in a different browser (Firefox) and the image displays correctly The behavior seems to be slightly different than yesterday when across all browsers and apps images would not display correctly.
ebr 16185 Posted November 28, 2017 Posted November 28, 2017 Perhaps a corrupted image in your browser cache. Try clearing that.
