XBOX one app

Wife started using emby app on xbox one...she can only watch 5 minutes or so of live tv before it locks the app up..have to quit the app and restart it for it to work again, but same issue happens again in about five minutes. These is a hard crash on the app, cant back out of it. This is an xbox one s..going to try it on my other xbox. Both have the fall update

My elite xbox freezes randomly making loud noise ..both apps play movies as long as you do not fast forward or anything...thats seems to lock them up as well

The rokus seem to behave ok so far...live tv paused once on one..my daughter has been playing a movie for almost an hour no issues..she can even fast forward and pause with no problems.

Ok..the elite xbox one finally crashed after several pauses on live tv..BTW I was playing an hd source..wife was playing a standard source

Disregard on the movie process..she gave up on the live tv..tried a movie...it locked up after 5 minutes....rebooting now. Just FYI..have plex on both xbox ones..never get a crash like this..can FF and pause with no issues on each. HD homerun app runs with no issues as well...I am not saying this to take shots at emby, but to let you know that other things function normal, and its not a hardware issue.

Is xbox one app having know issues since the fall update? I know hd homerun app had a major issue in the last xbox update were it would no longer work..they got it fixed, just curious if emby going through the same issue...as it is right now its almost not usable on xbox

It actually had known issues before the fall update, and the fall update resolved them. Are you sure your system is up to date?

Confirmed..emby on xbox keeps locking up..I have performed a cold reboot twice...locks up on movies and live tv.

 

Gave up on Emby for now again..going back to plex...family wants to watch a movie.

Do you want just the server logs? I know plex can receive logs from xbox with a certain feature on, can emby do the same?

Related behavior - I can reliably cause the XBOX app to fail by simply fast forwarding through a recorded show.  It's not dependent on a particular recording, it happens when direct play or transcoding.  When it fails, the xbox app stops playing and appears to lose all contact with the server.  The server shows that it is continuing to stream the show.  The only way to recover is to quit the xbox app and restart.  I cannot repeat this from a windows client. 

 

All tests are with version 1.1.181.70 of the emby theater app. 

XBOX OS version:  10.0.16299.4037

The behavior is the same with both the released server and the .net version of the server. 

 

Logs attached.  There are several of these events in the server log.  I downloaded right after I repeated the final time.  I've attached the last 3 ffmpeg logs.

just installed on top...did a reboot...went straight to live, played for about 5 minutes..locked up again

Small update..I may have spoke a little to soon, my xbox one elite still locks up...the xbox one s has not yet...I actually tried the xbox elite first and it locked up..for laugh and giggles I decided to start the one s...it has been plating so far without locking up..been almost 10 mins. I rebooted the elite from a cold start..testing now...

ok..hasn't locked up yet...but we kept bot on one channel the whole time..will be using it as normal and see what happens...

The elite lasted  about 25 mins and started acting funny..weird pauses in audio and video ...have a question...does this buffer to the hard drive first?
