watch status changes after upgrading movies

Is this normal behavior?

 

I am upgrading some movies from avi or mp4 to better quality mkv. It marks movies that were watched to unwatched. It is keeping all my custom art work and custom tags I entered for the movie before.

Hi.  You need to make sure the movies are properly identified (proper tmdb or imdb ID) after the change.  Try running a library scan.

The reason for this is that we correlate the watch data with those values. If they aren't present then we use the media path, which of course has now changed after your upgrade
