Emby theater Offline use?

Hello, i just set up emby server and the desktop version of theater recently on the same htpc; it all worked initially but now wont connect. I don't have internet at my house only cellular tethering, so i want to use this offline for the most part. The web version works fine, but theater wont connect unless i connect the pc to the internet, then it works right away. Im not connecting via emby connect, and i tried adding the server manually. Does this work offline or not?

The first screen which asks to choose a server, manual connection or emby connect, after choosing it says something along the lines of unable to connect check if the server is running, which it is

Here is the first screen that pops up when i start emby theater..

i select my server and get the error; adding the server manualy doesnt work either

Try clicking the add server button and then enter the server ip address. see if that allows you to connect. thanks.

Are you sure the server is started and running? What ip address are you entering? Are you sure the ip address is correct?

Yeah, its running and im quite certain i got the correct ip and port. All I have to do is enable tethering on my phone to give the pc internet access and emby theater will connect immediately

is that your external ip address?

It's the ip emby server lists in the settings

You're trying to use your external ip address and that will require an internet connection because that address is your internet address.

 

You need to use your internal LAN ip address, which is normally displayed on the server dashboard but looks like in your case emby server wasn't able to detect it. do you know your internal LAN address?

I dont have it connected to a private network, so im not sure what address you're looking for;an ipconfig /all turns up nothing
