LqHnyBear 23 Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 I just formatted and reinstalled my system. After installing Emby Theater on my Windows 10 box I now have two volume bars. One in the top left and one on the right. When my speaker volume is set to 10 the emby osd volume is at 100. If I raise my volume with my MCE remote to 20 then go back to 10 the emby osd volume is now at 90%. My question is how do I get emby to not have that second volume adjustment. I never had it before and am not sure how to get rid of it.
Luke 42079 Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 Windows can be a little funny with the way that there is an overall system volume, and then each application can have it's own volume. For best results i would suggest making sure you're always controlling one or the other.
LqHnyBear 23 Posted November 22, 2017 Author Posted November 22, 2017 (edited) Maybe I'm not explaining it right. Before I formatted my system and started over if I used my MCE remote to raise or lower the volume it only showed windows default volume overlay in the top left of my screen. If I lowered the volume or raised the volume it didn't change emby's volume exclusively as well. Now whenever I open Emby theater my system volume is usually at 10% and emby's volume bar is at 100%. As I raise the system volume with my remote 20% 30% 40% etc etc emby's volume stays at 100%. However let's say I decide to lower the volume once I reach 40% system volume to 10% system volume, instead of emby's volume remaining at 100% like it should, it lowers to 70%, If I continue to lower the volume once the system volume is at 0% the emby volume bar keeps lowering until it hits 0% and then eventually round robins back to 100% if I keep hitting down. So let's say I do that and hit volume down on my MCE remote until emby is at 0% once I hit volume up to get the system volume back to 10% emby's volume is only at 10% and can't be heard. If I raise the volume higher so it can be heard, like 70-80% then if any other system sound plays it's so loud I literally shit myself. This is not how Emby Theater was working prior to my reinstall. I've tried this with various other programs and emby theater is the only one doing this odd behavior. Edited November 22, 2017 by LqHnyBear
