dranderson402 31 Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 I'm seeing an issue with my recordings. I seem to have to manually tell it to refresh the metadata after the recording is finished. The recorded shows do not have the release date or primary image. Once I refresh the metadata it updates. I do have the recordings library set to download artwork and metadata. I also selected to download images in advance to see if that would help. Real time monitoring is also enabled. Live TV is setup with only the single default folder for recordings. I also do not seem to have this issue with my other tv series and movie libraries. They get all the proper metadata once I put new items in those folders.
dranderson402 31 Posted November 22, 2017 Author Posted November 22, 2017 Here is the log file from yesterday that will have a few shows that recorded. The first was NCIS at 7:00PM. Then 2 shows at 8:00PM. Last is one show at 9:00PM. Log.txt
dranderson402 31 Posted November 27, 2017 Author Posted November 27, 2017 I'm still seeing this problem and have no idea what the problem is or if there is something I can do. I understand the holidays and shopping may have people busy, I just wanted to give this a little nudge.
dranderson402 31 Posted December 11, 2017 Author Posted December 11, 2017 I don't know why I haven't heard anything on this problem, but here is more info on the problem that will hopefully show what I see. Attached you will see the latest log file showing where 3 shows recorded. Wisdom of the Crowd at 19:00 NCIS Los Angeles at 20:00 Madam Secretary at 21:00 All 3 started 1 minute early and ended 60 minutes late. I have also included the nfo file for Wisdom of the Crowd that was created when the recording finished and again after I manually ran refresh metadata the next morning. You can clearly see how much information is missing from the auto run at the end of the recording. I don't know if this is to be expected or if I have a setting wrong. ServerLog-63648460800.txt Not sure why but the system won't let me upload the nfo files. So I'll paste them here. NFO created automatically when recording finished. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="yes"?><episodedetails> <plot>The team tracks a killer targeting online celebrities and broadcasting their final moments on a live streaming platform; Sara worries about being banned from using Sophe.</plot> <outline /> <lockdata>false</lockdata> <dateadded>2017-12-10 18:59:00</dateadded> <title>Live Stream</title> <mpaa>14+</mpaa> <genre>Crime drama</genre> <art> <poster>\\192.168.10.51\Multimedia\Recordings\Series\Wisdom of the Crowd\Season 1\Wisdom of the Crowd S01E10 Live Stream-thumb.jpg</poster> </art> <isuserfavorite>false</isuserfavorite> <playcount>0</playcount> <watched>false</watched> <resume> <position>0</position> <total>0</total> </resume> <episode>10</episode> <season>1</season> <fileinfo> <streamdetails /> </fileinfo></episodedetails> NFO after I manually refreshed the metadata the next morning. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="yes"?><episodedetails> <plot>The team utilizes Sophe to track a killer who is targeting online celebrities and broadcasting their final moments on a live streaming platform. Luke 42083 Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 Hi there, please try installing the latest version of Emby Server from the emby website. Thanks !
dranderson402 31 Posted December 11, 2017 Author Posted December 11, 2017 (edited) Hi there, please try installing the latest version of Emby Server from the emby website. Thanks ! I have 3.2.50 installed and was installed prior to last night's recordings. I had the older 3.2.36 when I first reported the problem. Edited December 11, 2017 by dranderson402
Luke 42083 Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 what exactly is the issue at this point? you have nfo files with metadata, no? You have all the metadata in your recording that was available with the guide data, correct?
dranderson402 31 Posted December 12, 2017 Author Posted December 12, 2017 (edited) The problem is the missing metadata. Mostly the release date is missing. I use emby for kodi and when it displays the show in kodi the aired date is wrong. Other missing data: Year Runtime Aired Date - which I believe is the Release Date and others that I'm not sure if they are important. If I add shows to my library and emby sees the new files when scanned, emby does the lookup and finds all the metadata. I only see the problem of the missing metadata on recordings. So I guess my problem is that recordings aren't displaying correctly in kodi. Edited December 12, 2017 by dranderson402
Luke 42083 Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 Was that info in the guide data to begin with? The nfos are saved with all available guide data. When you refresh manually that's when it uses the internet metadata and that's why you might get additional information. But by default, we save with just the original guide data that we had available.

When you refresh manually that's when it uses the internet metadata and that's why you might get additional information. But by default, we save with just the original guide data that we had available. I use Schedules Direct and I'm not sure what info is included with the guide data. Here is a screen shot of what I see for the next upcoming recording of the same show in my example. I can also say that I used schedules direct with mythtv prior to emby and the aired date was there but I'm not sure if mythtv got it from the guide or did an internet lookup. So from what I gather you are saying, recordings do not lookup metadata from the internet, it just uses what it sees in the guide data. I assumed emby was looking up the metadata from the internet because I would see this in the log file when the recording starts. 2017-12-10 19:00:01.026 Info LibraryMonitor: Season 1 (\\192.168.10.51\Multimedia\Recordings\Series\Wisdom of the Crowd\Season 1) will be refreshed. Then I would see the following at the end of the recording leaving me to believe there was an error getting the metadata. 2017-12-10 21:00:04.030 Error HttpServer: Error in HttpListenerResponseWrapper: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host *** Error Report *** Version: 3.2.50.0 Command line: C:\Users\Dave\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\system\EmbyServer.dll Operating system: Microsoft Windows NT 6.2.9200.0 64-Bit OS: True 64-Bit Process: True User Interactive: True Processor count: 8 Program data path: C:\Users\Dave\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server Application directory: C:\Users\Dave\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\system System.Net.Sockets.SocketException (0x80004005): An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host at SocketHttpListener.SocketStream.Write(Byte[] buffer, Int32 offset, Int32 count) at SocketHttpListener.Net.HttpResponseStream.DisposeCore() at SocketHttpListener.Net.HttpResponseStream.Dispose(Boolean disposing) at System.IO.Stream.Close() at Emby.Server.Implementations.HttpServer.SocketSharp.WebSocketSharpResponse.CloseOutputStream(HttpListenerResponse response) System.Net.Sockets.SocketException at SocketHttpListener.SocketStream.Write(Byte[] buffer, Int32 offset, Int32 count) at SocketHttpListener.Net.HttpResponseStream.DisposeCore() at SocketHttpListener.Net.HttpResponseStream.Dispose(Boolean disposing) at System.IO.Stream.Close() at Emby.Server.Implementations.HttpServer.SocketSharp.WebSocketSharpResponse.CloseOutputStream(HttpListenerResponse response)
Luke 42083 Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 No that entry in the log is not related. I guess what we can do is if we don't have original air date in the guide data, then we can use today's date if the episode is marked as new. thanks.

Would it be possible to have recordings to do an internet lookup? It would be nice for recordings to have all the same info that all the items in the library has. Also, just using today's date as you suggest wouldn't help for reruns. Edited December 12, 2017 by dranderson402
Luke 42083 Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 Not by default because the potential for mismatches is high when we don't have imdb id's or tvdb id's, etc. That's why we don't do it because then we'll be troubleshooting why your recording got renamed to something completely different.

Understood but using today's date for the aired date would be wrong if someone needed to record a repeat. Maybe you could make the internet lookup an option or a manual process when adding a series for recording. For example, when I find a show to record and get ready to add it as a series recording, I could click a button to manually lookup the metadata information. Then once the correct show is found it will always lookup using the correct imdb and tvdb numbers from the internet. Emby could do an internet lookup as long as there is a imbd and/or tvdb number. dranderson402 31 Posted December 12, 2017 Author Posted December 12, 2017 Ah, missed the "if the episode is marked as new" part. Thanks ebr for pointing that out. But I still like the feature to do a manual metadata lookup on the scheduling popup from the guide. I've had a few shows be totally wrong and had to do a manual lookup to get the correct artwork and such.
