Luke 42077 Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 hi, windows is a great choice. there is no reason to switch operating systems. why not try again, and then if you have a problem, please attach the information requested in how to report a problem. thanks !

Luke 42077 Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 No, if you're going to do a manual portable install, then use the instructions on the website for that: https://emby.media/windows-server.html Thanks.

Luke 42077 Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 Actually you don't even need to worry about the files because the links are right on the website. All you have to do is click the link. Does that help? Thanks !
Swynol 375 Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 5-10 people is quite a load especially if transcoding. it might be your hardware capping out. i use both windows and linux. both are good in different ways. currently running it on windows because i have a number of other services running on the same machine some only work with Windows.

Usually i download the x264 movie 1
FreeBSD_Lover 14 Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 I have been having great success with FreeBSD OS in all of my home server needs. That includes Emby, Plex (for a while longer), gaming, bittorrent, etc. If the program/application (in FreeBSD we call it a port or package) is well written, then your enjoyment running on FreeBSD is pretty much guaranteed. FreeBSD has a learning curve if you are not used to Linux/Unix OSs, but in my humble opinion its worth it.
