Marc_G 95 Posted November 18, 2017 Posted November 18, 2017 Please see attached log. Big Bang Theory was scheduled to record last night. No other recordings in conflict. This morning I checked and saw it didn't record. WHY OH WHY? YEs, I'm a version of Server behind and will be updating this weekend. I run emby server as a service and have to manually update. Any troubleshooting appreciated. Marc server-63646387200.txt
Guest asrequested Posted November 18, 2017 Posted November 18, 2017 You should reinstall your server. I had this issue reoccur over and over. Luke advised I wouldn't have the issue if had a new install.
Luke 42078 Posted November 18, 2017 Posted November 18, 2017 Please update to the latest version of emby server. Thanks !
Marc_G 95 Posted November 18, 2017 Author Posted November 18, 2017 (edited) Luke, I know you want us all to stay up to date, but was something specific related to this fixed in the latest version? I'll be updating either way, but not knowing why it didn't record in the first place with no apparent error number or fail drives me nuts. OK, I'm fine with doing a complete reinstall of the server. This is the first real missed recording since I went through a bunch of stuff a few months ago, so figured the missed recording issues were fixed (the fixes to channel listings with HDHR devices seemed to cure my prior problems).. What's the best process to go through to do a complete reinstall? Edited November 18, 2017 by Marc_G
Marc_G 95 Posted November 18, 2017 Author Posted November 18, 2017 Hmmm. I think another recording was missed. It was a one-off recording, a PBS special "The Farthest" about the Voyager probes. It was scheduled for sometime this week (I forget exactly when, I think Wednesday evening) and I don't see it anywhere. Is there a log of what recordings Emby actually did, somewhere I can look up? I've missed seeing a "Recording History" view since leaving WMC. My "Recordings" tab is always blank; have posted about this before.
Marc_G 95 Posted November 19, 2017 Author Posted November 19, 2017 For whatever it is worth, I've uninstalled Emby completely and reinstalled it from scratch. No settings or other leavings should be contaminating this fresh install. Let's hope things record correctly now. Meanwhile, I will start a new thread on my musings about recording schedule and history.
