Emby cast to & when to transcode?

I have had transcoding turned off, and I don't regularly use emby on any portable devices, except maybe my fridge. I would like to be able to use my tablets and phone through either the emby app, or yatze to browse my emby content, including live TV, and cast my media to various TVs around the house. My problem is that unless I have emby server installed on a given PC, it doesn't show up on my cast menu. If I remember correctly chromecasts do show up but I would rather not have to change inputs. Should I install Emby server on these PCs so they can act as casting targets or is there some other way, and should I be transcoding?

If you want to cast to a PC, then just install an Emby app like Emby Theater. You don't need the entire server.
