I guess I would expect one file since jumping hallway into one would be problematic (would be ideal if possible), but would expect the metadata to indicate two shows exist and give both their info. Mine only show the episode info for the first show.

Edit:

After looking at your show's image, on IMDB I see your displays both sets of metadata. Mine do not.

Sorry I will have to test Emby as my metadata is provided by another program.

Did a test on my Emby test machine of Arrow.S01E02-E03.disc and description for both episodes was pulled.

Assuming the files are named correctly as per our tv naming guide, then you should see merged titles and overviews for both.

I tried my original (Show Name S01E01-E02.mkv) and one that was reported to work in a another thread (Show Name S01E01-02.mkv).

if you have a pre-existing nfo then that might be the reason. We will have a little more work to do for these regarding the typical way they are stored in nfo files. Thanks.

Not pre-existing. I deleted all nfos and had them re-created (Sonarr makes them, not emby).

Well that's what i mean by pre-existing. I really just meant created by someone else. Thanks.

So I would blame Sonarr for not getting all the metadata not Emby, correct?  Emby will only read pre-existing metadata and not add anything else.  You are better disabling Sonarr nfo creation as mentioned in older posts.

No, don't blame sonarr. Nfo conventions put mutliple root nodes in nfo files for mutli-episode files and we just haven't added support for that yet.

So are you saying Sonarr is providing the information and Emby just isn't reading that information?

Can you post the nfo created by Sonarr.

Posted

Correct, we're only reading the first node which contains the first episode.

@@mediaGuy - in the mean time, this will all work as you expect if you allow Emby to gather your metadata instead of Sonarr.
