gyrene2083 1 Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 Good Morning All, I'm having a weird problem with one Anime Show, Inuyasha, there are a 193 episodes, 7 Seasons and the ID for TVdb is 71361. I am getting 117 episodes in the first season, and TVDB only has 27 episodes the first season. I have deleted the cache in TVDB that had the 71361 id number. I have refreshed, I have tried everything I could think of to no avail. All of my other Anime shows showed up fine. Now full disclosure when I initially added Inuyasha, it was the only show that was setup with the absolute numbering (1-193). When that didn't work, I removed it and removed the cache ID and set them up using the proper Seasons and named used Filebot with the TVDB layout. I could really use a life line.and hope that there is a simple fix I am over looking. Thank you all in advance.
Luke 42078 Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 Have you compared your fine naming to our supported naming conventions?
gyrene2083 1 Posted November 13, 2017 Author Posted November 13, 2017 (edited) @@Luke, thank you for responding, Yes sir I have ensured that I followed the naming TV naming convention. Below you will see a sample of the my folder Anime InuYasha Season 01 InuYasha.S01E01.The Girl Who Overcame Time… and the Boy Who Was Just Overcome.mkv InuYasha.S01E02.Seekers of the Sacred Jewel.mkv All the other Seasons of Anime Shows, and TV-Shows are setup as the above. Luke 42078 Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 What is your first priority series and episode metadata providers? i would check that.
gyrene2083 1 Posted November 13, 2017 Author Posted November 13, 2017 Thanks again Luke, I just checked and I have TVDB as my metadata provider.
Luke 42078 Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 Where are you seeing 117 episodes in the first season? what episodes are they? are they from another show?
gyrene2083 1 Posted November 13, 2017 Author Posted November 13, 2017 I took a screen shot, below you will see this is the actual anime itself..I hope that helps. As you can see there are 117 episodes in Season 1. There are only 27 seasons in that season.
Luke 42078 Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 what episodes are they? are they from another show?
gyrene2083 1 Posted November 13, 2017 Author Posted November 13, 2017 No they are from the same show and furthermore it appears not shown in this picture below that there is absolute numbering mixed in there too.
Luke 42078 Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 For those three entries if you use the 3-dot menu -> edit, what files do those entries correspond to?
gyrene2083 1 Posted November 14, 2017 Author Posted November 14, 2017 So in accordance to the order of the pictures displayed, the following are the paths each of them are pointing to: D:\Media\Anime\InuYasha\Season 07\InuYasha - S07E01 - Naraku`s Heart.mkv D:\Media\Anime\InuYasha\Season 04\InuYasha.S04E19.The Snow from Seven Years Past.mkv D:\Media\Anime\InuYasha\Season 01\InuYasha.S01E01.The Girl Who Overcame Time… and the Boy Who Was Just Overcome.mkv I appreciate all the help, and hope I am providing you with enough information to help me.
Luke 42078 Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 I don't know how that could have happened. I haven't seen this before. I would suggest using the editing features to correct the season and episode numbers for those other episodes. If you have or have ever had the anime plugin installed it may have done this. 2
gyrene2083 1 Posted November 14, 2017 Author Posted November 14, 2017 I actually did initially, and immediately removed it. This is the only show that gave me this problem, and like I mentioned above, this was the only Anime show that was in Absolute Form, then I broke it down into seasons, and that's when I got the 117 episodes the first season. I appreciate the help, so just to make sure, I'm just going to have to manually edit that particular season, correct?
Luke 42078 Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 You need to check season numbers for each of the seasons as well as both season and episode numbers for each of the episodes. 1
gyrene2083 1 Posted November 14, 2017 Author Posted November 14, 2017 Very well thank you so much, as soon as I'm squared away, I'll let you know and you can mark this one as solved if you want.
gyrene2083 1 Posted November 14, 2017 Author Posted November 14, 2017 Ok one last question, how would I edit the following? On the episode portion how would I episodes 23 & 24? I looked around and couldn't find an answer to something like this.
Luke 42078 Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 The field right below contains the ending episode number you can edit.
gyrene2083 1 Posted November 14, 2017 Author Posted November 14, 2017 Luke thank you for all your help, but I think I'm missing something what field are you talking about? After Episode number comes Community Rating, and I scrolled down to the bottom, and didn't see an ending episode option.

Stupid idea, but after having breaking down into seasons did you ask for a Metadata refresh, just in case? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
gyrene2083 1 Posted November 14, 2017 Author Posted November 14, 2017 Thank you jscoys, I did in fact try to refresh the Metadata. I tried it a few different times because I thought I hadn't done it, but I checked and in fact did run it. I already have everything set up into the seasons at this point. I just have maybe 3 or 4 files that have two episodes in one, and I'm trying to figure out how to manually edit, it. Luke has been beyond patient and helpful, I'm just not seeing where to edit the end episode.
jscoys 147 Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 Normally Emby would manage correctly with S01E01E02 for instance. If it’s not a big deal for you could you show your directories where files are located? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
gyrene2083 1 Posted November 15, 2017 Author Posted November 15, 2017 Ok, @@Luke, @@jscoys, thank you both for all your help. How I fixed it was just to put one episode in the episode field, then I did a refresh of the metadata, and bam all is good in the Inuyasha world and my collection is squared away. You can mark this as [solved] 1

mediaGuy 8 Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 Jumping in here instead of repeating a topic. I use Sonarr to create metadata. Multiple episodes seem to match naming convention (Show Name S01E01-02.mkv). The Sonarr metadata includes both episodes but Emby only sees the 1st episode. Are my file names wrong or is there something else I need to do? My standard file naming is "Show Name S01E01.mkv" which works fine.

How are you expecting Emby to present the second episode? Multi-episode
