I think it's interesting...

Get the CC form factor and simplicity but with independent interface and remote... for 15$ more. Nice option.

 

I presume it will just replace Roku 1 (and it supports Youtube channel   which even Roku 2 doesn't)

I too, just saw this announcement. Would have been nice if 8th 8 clued the remote from the Roku 2 or 3 that has the headphone jack built in.

 

Does anyone know if this stick will support the Roku client?

Not 100% as I have not got one, but looking at the spec and knowing it run's fine on a Roku 1 I would say it is highly likely.

Thought I would bump this and let users know I have 2 of these in use now at my home and the official Roku app works just fine on them.

Really can't complain, plenty of speed navigating the interface, nice to have a real remote, and the same app functionality as a Roku 3 when it comes to their Android, iOS app for beaming / searching for content. I'm sure the Roku 3 blows it away in navigation speed and launching of apps, but for the 2 bedrooms they went into they are more then sufficient.
