Library scan - Cannot change named node

I'm trying to resolve a few issues with my Emby install.  I'm not getting any backdrops and the grey background image of a tree that you get when you first install Emby Theater disappears soon after, never to reappear.  As such the interface is a little depressing.

 

I've reconfigured FanArt and I'm rescanning the library  with "Download metadata in advance" (or similar) turned on for movies, photos and music.  The library scan is taking a while and the logs show the following error for almost every photo.  The service account does have modify permissions to these files.  The UI is unresponsive during the library scan (on a i7-7700K!) so I am looking at the logs directly from the file system.

 

Any ideas why it cannot change the named node?

Ah, apparently backdrops are working but not on the home page or NextPVR.  Halloween theme seems to add one.  I'll search for more themes.

 

Edited to confirm backdrops are working in the web interface but not Emby Theater.  Also, on the web interface, NextPVR Live TV Recordings shows "Recording Groups" to allow you to browse recordings by title.  On Emby Theater, the "Recording Groups" entry is missing.  *confused*

I've checked the instructions but they don't say if attached files can be viewed by all.  The server log currently contains my public URL and filepaths for all of my photos so I hope you understand that I don't fancy publishing it to all!
