Should I open or map something special on my cable modem in order to allow emby server to communicate with the open? Solved: something on my server had to be changed.... Pirlo1966 22 Posted November 12, 2017 Author Posted November 12, 2017 Thanks, what had to be changed? Until a few days ago all worked by just indicating what my default gateway was. Now I had to check 'manually configure DNS server' and fill in the address of 'Preferred DNS Server'

So it seems to be Synology security or something. That solves many updating problems from emby media. Maybe not so rocket science but worth to try for people on Synology servers.

Hello Anybody reading this, please don't do this unless you know what you're doing and understand the implications - it is not needed for Emby Server to be installed on Synology systems.
