Finallygreen 1 Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 Hello! I have a library I've called "Miscellaneous". It is an unset (mixed content) library full of random TV recordings that are not movies and not TV shows. Due to the nature of the content, there's almost never going to be cover art found by the scraper, and so the identifying images will usually be screenshots created automatically by Emby. Because of that, I'm wondering if there's a way I can make the images in this library have the dimensions of a TV screen (like 4:3 since they're mostly old clips) instead of the dimensions of a poster or video box...which winds up squishing the screenshot Emby automatically takes for each file. Can this be done?
Deathsquirrel 745 Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 I'd set the library to home movies. Then it won't attempt to scrape metadata at all and the thumbnails should match the source material's aspect ratio.
Finallygreen 1 Posted November 10, 2017 Author Posted November 10, 2017 Ohh, thanks for that. Is there a way to do that and not lose all the custom meta I've already entered for the files in this library?
Luke 42085 Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 If you enabled saving to nfo the yes, your custom metadata will be in the nfo files.
Finallygreen 1 Posted November 10, 2017 Author Posted November 10, 2017 Much, much better, thanks! Now...is there a way to: 1. Have it not stretch the rare occurrence where there IS a poster or videobox sized image so that it just leaves black space to the left and right of it when browsing the library? 2. Choose different screenshots from the videos to use than what it's currently selecting.
