Pankookis 10 Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 Hi I've managed to get a certificate from Let's Encrypt using Certify and IIS. I have a question about security since I now have a "website" that's accessible from outside and port 80 open. It's my understanding that I have to have this in order to renew my certificate later on, and I'm simply wondering if there is any security issues that might occur by having this IIS site open and have port 80 open?
WilhelmStroker 102 Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 you can close port 80 and use the scripts from this thread to schedule the renewal. The script at the bottom of page 4 will open port 80, update the cert and then close port 80 again.https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/47335-lets-encrypt-for-emby/page-4
