Jake404 1 Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 (edited) Normally when I touch the screen it would pause the movie and there would be a back arrow on the top left. But two or three versions ago this behavior changed. Now when I touch the screen it shows the bottom bar with the play controls but doesn't pause the movie. The back arrow is also gone. In the latest version the pause button disappears after the second touch event. But if I use the mouse everything works as it should. You can see this behavior in a screen recording: https://youtu.be/HMQqhtZAc-c Is this a bug that has been reported before? Edited November 9, 2017 by Jake404
Luke 42078 Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 For a touch device this is by design. Previously it was just interpreting all clicks and taps to be the same, so that has been corrected. We need to make sure the back arrow is visible though, thanks.
Jake404 1 Posted November 9, 2017 Author Posted November 9, 2017 What about the pause button that disappears?
swhitmore 781 Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 What about the pause button that disappears? I've seen this recently on the store version too. I was also having a LOT of stuttering on playback, especially at the start. I switched over to Emby Theatre for Desktop, and it runs a lot better. The only downside I've noticed is that scrolling is no way near as smooth on the desktop version.
Jake404 1 Posted November 10, 2017 Author Posted November 10, 2017 I've seen this recently on the store version too. I was also having a LOT of stuttering on playback, especially at the start. I switched over to Emby Theatre for Desktop, and it runs a lot better. The only downside I've noticed is that scrolling is no way near as smooth on the desktop version. For me it's the opposite. I'd like to use the desktop version but the interface is so slow on my Surface Pro and my battery drains so quickly. The store version however is buttery smooth and "normal" battery usage. There are some movies that stutter, but setting it to transcode fixes those few issues. But the missing pause button is very limiting now that tapping the video image doesn't pause any more.
Luke 42078 Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 well the pause button should be in the OSD once you tap the screen to show it.
Jake404 1 Posted November 10, 2017 Author Posted November 10, 2017 Yes but as you can see in the video I posted, if you tap twice consecutively the pause button disappears.
Jake404 1 Posted November 24, 2017 Author Posted November 24, 2017 I noticed that you fixed the back arrow in the latest version. Have you found a solution for the pause button? I checked the release notes but they don't seem to be updated.
Jake404 1 Posted December 21, 2017 Author Posted December 21, 2017 I have noticed more buttons disappearing: https://youtu.be/41wvv0aY8t8 It all happens after you dismiss the infobar by tapping on the video.
Luke 42078 Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 Duplicate posting of: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/54020-back-button-is-hidden-after-some-idle-time-store-version/&do=findComment&comment=522486
Jake404 1 Posted December 21, 2017 Author Posted December 21, 2017 No, they are not duplicate posts. These are two different issues. In this one, the buttons disappear and will not return until I stop the video. The other issue is probably by design, the back button is hidden after some idle time.
swhitmore 781 Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 I noticed today that pinch to zoom is affecting the app on my SP4
Luke 42078 Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 I noticed today that pinch to zoom is affecting the app on my SP4 Why do you think it's affecting the app?
