Auto encode AFTER watching?

I currently use a different DVR software solution, but have been looking at Emby.  I like what I see so far.

 

One of the things I currently do is certain shows are set up to encode (using FFMPEG NVENC), and move to a different location on my NAS.  But only AFTER I watch the show.  So basically, I can watch in HD, then encode it to 480p h.264 and archive it.

 

Is anything similar possible with Emby?

 

Also, would Emby allow me to ditch my plex server?  I use Plex to watch my media library when I travel for work.

Yes, you can watch your media library when you travel for work.

 

As far as auto-encoding, not at the moment, but it's something we're interested in for the future. thanks.
