Hi all, besides running Emby Theater on a Windows PC, if I wanted to access my remote Emby server and have this unit connected to a TV, what are the best options? I can work with a Raspberry Pi (maybe running Android TV) if that works well, too. Thanks.

Theater can be installed on the rpi

In my experience Theater and Android TV get the most traffic so are presumably getting the most developer attention.  That said, I've never noticed them neglecting any particular platform.

Don't go outside the supported platforms, ie ATV on a rPi, because hacks aren't supported and generally suck anyway.  official ATV devices, Roku, etc all are quite mature at this point.

Thanks. I am going to pick up a Roku to run it. I did think of installing ATV on rPi but I guess that's not working to well?

I'm satisfied with the Roku so far. I can cast to it and it will play the live TV, movie, recording, etc, just fine. Worse case just browse with the iOS app when casting for better control.

If you get android tv working well on a pi let me know. I have been trying to get it going but i seem to constantly find versions that just dont work well.

I just stuck with the Roku. The Roku channels are pretty useful, too. Easy to use for the parents. Decent model costs just $50.

rPi ($30), AC adapter ($5), sd card ($10-20), flirc ($13), remote ($10)
