Jerren 17 Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 (edited) One of my tv folders stopped downloading the upcoming tv metadata. When i click on upcoming tv it says: "List is empty. Make sure that downloading metadata from the internet is enabled" When i click that hyperlink i get to my library where all libraries are displayed. I then select the library, choose manage folders and in the library setting i can see "download images and metadata from the internet" is clearly checked. I tried turning the option off, restart emby turn it on. restart emby again to see if it needed it. Restart server restart server with option turned off, then turn it on None of these seemed to make a difference. The function still works on other libraries so i have no idea why this one has problems. Has not worked in about a week i think. Edited November 5, 2017 by jerren
Luke 42080 Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 Make sure to run a library scan because that's when the upcoming information gets populated. thanks.
Jerren 17 Posted November 5, 2017 Author Posted November 5, 2017 Yes multiple library scans have finished, i let the scheduled task run (runs every night), scan the entire library and only the 1 folder none made a difference.
Luke 42080 Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 Under library -> metadata, make sure you haven't disabled tvdb metadata for series and episodes because that's where it comes from.
Jerren 17 Posted November 7, 2017 Author Posted November 7, 2017 (edited) Thought i had replied to this but thetvdb, moviedb and open movie database were checked. I'm gonna try unchecking them and do the restart/check again thing to see if it changes anything. Edit: it shows upcoming episodes again now, altho only for 1 series and upon checking online for another show that i know is active at this moment and should air next saturday/sunday but isn't being shown. Seeing how 1 show is being shown this might be because of where emby get's it's data? When i check tvdb it also states the next episode to air next sunday so i'm not sure why it wouldn't show it. Luke 42080 Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 Just make sure then is checked, then make sure you are running regular library scans, and then gradually you should see them start to fill in.
Jerren 17 Posted November 14, 2017 Author Posted November 14, 2017 Well it's my anime library and luckily i got a few sites where i can check the 1 show that doesn't want to show up. Emby runs a library scan every night and even done a few manual ones in between, guess it's got something to do what whatever site provides the info then.
Jerren 17 Posted November 15, 2017 Author Posted November 15, 2017 (edited) Tvdb was showing the episodes on their site which is why i didn't get it. I went looking into the serie info and found that imdb shows a different counting then all other channels so removed that and also found that it get's info from "zap2it" never heard of it but on their site i found no upcoming episodes so removing that fixed it. Bit off an oddity i guess but glad it found it. Also is it possible to remove a site to check for episodes for an entire library? Might want to try that with zap2it for a couple of days see if any shows started back up without going through every single show because atm all i can see is metadata download sites tvdb & tmdb for all the library's. Can't see an option where you add or remove other sites but like i said earlier i don't know if it's an option to even do so. Edited November 16, 2017 by jerren
Luke 42080 Posted November 16, 2017 Posted November 16, 2017 For the metadata provider options we offer, you can use any of them that you wish as your highest priority provider, but the upcoming episodes features is currently only populated with tvdb info.
Jerren 17 Posted November 17, 2017 Author Posted November 17, 2017 (edited) Hmm well it seems that zap2it & imdb id wriggled it's way back into my id list and the show is gone again i'll put a picture below so you can see where it is. I could remove the zap2it id (since i think that one is the problem seeing how it also has episodelist on the site) but it would just get added back after i guess my nightly scan. So any ideas how can block that from coming back? Edited November 17, 2017 by jerren
Luke 42080 Posted November 17, 2017 Posted November 17, 2017 I'm not sure why you keep mentioning zap2it and IMDb because they do not affect the upcoming feature at all. What problem are you actually having?
Jerren 17 Posted November 18, 2017 Author Posted November 18, 2017 I keep mentioning it because only when i remove the id from that and do a manual scan the show's upcoming episodes start filling back in but after the nightly scan that id get's added again making the upcoming episodes disappear from the list again sometimes keeping only the first upcoming episode in the list. So the problem i guess is that the zap2it id keeps filling back in, because only when i do what i typed before will the upcoming episodes fill in like they should. I know you said that episode lists should only come from tvdb but clearly there is something different here and since i only see a change when i change that i can only assume it has to do with that.
Luke 42080 Posted November 18, 2017 Posted November 18, 2017 The zap2it id has nothing to do with it. The real question is why is the metadata changing over night.
Jerren 17 Posted November 18, 2017 Author Posted November 18, 2017 (edited) Yes i agree i don't know how that happens either. The 2 things i do know is that every night my emby runs the scheduled "scan media library" taks and the 2nd thing is that i only get the upcoming episodes to the show when zap2it is not in the id and i do a manual scan. So since i don't know more at this point it's why i think they are connected. If you know something that might help determine more i will gladly try it, Edited November 18, 2017 by jerren
Jerren 17 Posted December 23, 2017 Author Posted December 23, 2017 Since it's been awhile can anyone point me in a direction to look at why this is happening? So far i have noticed that on sunday's suddenly the one piece episode will be in there but only on sunday since that's the day it airs. But it won't show them weeks in advance like it used to do.
