Question about Emby versions

As i can see in the downloads page their are three versions for windows plus the online installler from the emby.media site

i can understand the difference between x86 and x64 but

1- what is emby.windows.zip ?

2- do online installer install x64 automatically on x64 systems ?

3- is embyserver-win-x64 file portable version of the server or what ?

4- if we have windows x64 is it better to use online installer or use the file for x64 in the screenshot ?

1. This is the original net framework version

 

2. I believe so

 

3. This is the new net core version and both stable and beta versions install this version now.

 

4.  It is always best to use the installer, you only download this separately if you are installing portable (different then default location).

You don't need to worry about what you see on github. All you need to do is use the Emby website, and it will tell you exactly what you need for your operating system:
