Docker vs other server

I'm looking for the most secure option here. I've got a file server that I want to be able to share SOME information with friends and family. I'll probably want everyone else to have read only but the option of R/W may be nice too.

 

Now, the file server runs Unraid. I can set up emby through docker. OR I can build a server with emby that would connect to the file server.

 

I'm thinking the docker route will be ideal.

The platform will not affect Emby's ability to grant or restrict access to media libraries.  That will work the same on any of them.

 

Or, are you talking outside of Emby here...?
