Is there a way to not have .nfo files generated at all?

Hi,

 

I tried disabling the Nfo metadata as posted on https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/44972-enabledisable-nfo-metadata/ , but Emby is still generating those files inside of the show directory, season and episode.

Any way I can have Emby to not generate those at all?

Hi.  Uncheck the option labeled "Save artwork and metadata into media folders" under each library.

@@tvinhas, actually this is disabled by default, so the only way you got NFO files was by turning it on.

Look at the Metadata menu in Library, you will have to use the drop down to look at each content type.

Thanks, but I've already disabled Nfo in all of them. Do I need to restart the server after this change?

Emby will not delete any metadata already created.  You have to manually do that. 

 

After saying that are you still getting nfo files in new media?  I can't reproduce nfo creation with option disabled.

Yes happy2play is correct. The only thing this changes is that it won't save new nfo going forward. It will not remove existing nfo files.

 

Also, did you use the media type dropdown to uncheck the box for all media types? Thanks.
