shield tv video freezes

i have videos that freeze.  any help would be great.

works fine on android phone and web app

Hi.  The bitrate requested by the app was only 3Mb/s and the item is about 7.  What is the video quality setting in the app set to?  Can you try setting it higher than 7Mb and see if the item plays well?

 

Also, with this playback, there should have been an ffmpeg log as well.  Do you have that?

part of my troubleshooting was to change bitrate to 3MB/s, prior to that it was max and still froze the application.

Try disabling hardware acceleration.

k i will tonight.  like i said, web and phone works on these videos, just my shield breaks.  will report back.

The others are certainly transcoding while the Shield is trying to play the raw stream.

 

I believe I've seen problems before with h265 and nvenc.

sorry to take so long.  sure enough, if i turn off NVENC the video works.  is there anything i can do?

Try again with future server updates. As we update our ffmpeg libraries the hardware acceleration support is bound to improve.

 

And of course make sure your operating system is fully to to date as well as all hardware drivers.

graphics drivers were up to date and we don't have a choice anymore with windows 10 to NOT be up to date

 

thanks for the feedback,ill probably just convert the files so they play and keep NVENC on
