Emby no longer streams to chromecast after 3.2.35.0 update

My emby updated last night to 3.2.35.0, and my android apps also. Now, when I click to connect to chromecast, it just hangs on a black screen and then fails out to the chromecast home screen. 

 

This was working fine before the upgrade, what changed?

I'm having chromecast issue too..   movie (m2ts) and live tv don't work (get a black screen or a movie background) then nothing..

 

however .mkv file works....

I'm having the same problem. Restarting my chromecast and phone did not help. My emby plays fine from everything else, just not the Chromecast.

On my TV's that have a chromecast I get a black screen with no video. Android, Ipad, Android TV, Roku, and Web work fine.

Hi, there's a lot of log files here. Which ones are from the time frame that you attempted chromecast playback? thanks !

So you're trying to play live tv. What about video file playback? is that successful?

Yes sir, files will playback fine, 

 

EDIT - I take that back, files that I recorded before the update play fine. But ones I recorded today do not. 

 

EDIT AGAIN - Uhhh, some files play and some files dont.

It might help to restart the server to have a clean log, then run a file that work and a file that doesn't.

I am having the same issue. When I choose a channel to cast, it only loads a black screen. If I disconnect from the Chromecast, the server continues "streaming" the channel, tying up the tuners until I restart the server.

Did you start having this problem before or after updating the server?

I never had a chance to try before updating. The first time I had the problem was after the server auto updated to version 3.2.35.0.

Emby Theater UWP on my 950 XL connects but nothing plays. I can browse around just cannot play music or movies inside or outside my LAN. This started after 3.2.35.0. Upgraded to 3.2.36.0 and still the same issue. Tried playing from a web browser (Chrome) and nothing plays there either.

@@nvader2000 The UWP app does not support connecting to Chromecast. I'm assuming that's what you're referring to and not piggybacking something unrelated into this topic :)

No sorry. Just general play back. It seems that after 3.2.35.x nothing works anymore. Just tried my Xbox One S and that does not play anything either. Did a full re-scan of the library and still nothing. I see a lot of errors in my logs files. Will PM them to you.

@@nvader2000 This is something you need to look at. It looks like you have an environmental problem on your side that you will need to resolve:

	System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path '/volume3/Transcoding/transcoding-temp' is denied.

The Chromecast is now playing channels again. Thanks for looking into this.
