How do I identify this media correctly?

I recently added this to my library:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Doctor_Who_serials#Specials_.282008.E2.80.932010.29

It's a few epsidoes that ran between Season 4 and 5 of the 2005 reboot Doctor Who.

Emby is misidentifying them as Season 5 episodes and causing lots of weird behavior, like these show up in the Season 5 folder falsely showing thumbnails and descriptions of the Season 5 episodes making it look like I have some of them twice.   They are in a separate folder named "Specials (2008–2010)" currently.

I've run into stuff like this a few times, just not sure how to handle these special cases properly but I would like to clean up my metadata.

Any suggestions?

Not sure about adding (2008-2010) to Specials.

How are the episodes named?

s00e09 The Next Doctor

s00e13 Planet of the Dead

s00e14 The Waters of Mars

s00e16 The End of Time (1)

s00e17 The End of Time (2)

https://www.thetvdb.com/?tab=season&seriesid=78804&seasonid=26260&lid=7

Or is your issue "Display specials within seasons they aired in?

Here's how I have mine setup.

Each file is within a folder labeled as "Specials" within my Doctor Who folder. They are named as such.

Doctor Who (2005).S00E09.The Next Doctor

Doctor Who (2005).S00E13.Planet of the Dead

Doctor Who (2005).S00E14.The Waters of Mars

Doctor Who (2005).S00E16.The End of Time (1)

Doctor Who (2005).S00E17.The End of Time (2)

Emby correctly identifies them as specials and they are viewable within the specials under Doctor Who. Additionally, as I have "Display specials within seasons they aired in" checked, Emby also correctly places them at the end of Series 4.

@@Kirk137, how are your files named and structured right now? Thanks.

I wasn't sure how to label them since to me they were between season 4 and 5.

So I put them in a Specials folder in my folder with the season folders, eg:
Doctor Who\Season 4
Doctor Who\Specials (2008-2010)
Doctor Who\Season 5

I named the files themselves with a convention of "4.5x##", eg. 4.5x01 - The Next Doctor, 4.5x02 - Planet of the Dead.

I went with this suggestion, and did a rescan and it worked.   :)

I also kept my original folder structure, and Emby didn't care.  It added the specials to the end of Season 4 and named them properly.

eg:

Doctor Who\Specials (2008-2009)\00x09 - The Next Doctor

Doctor Who\Specials (2008-2009)\00x13 - Planet of the Dead

Thanks so much for the suggestion @@Happy2Play and @@rcarteraz.

Cheers!
