e123enitan 275 Posted October 28, 2017 Posted October 28, 2017 (edited) I noticed when I played hevc video, cpu is between 65-70% it appears the ffmpeg is what causing this issue, I'm not sure if the trans coding issue, however, when play this same file with vlc cpu usage is between 2 to 3%. Any thoughts on what might have cause this issue and how to resolve it. Thanks Edited October 30, 2017 by e123enitan
Solution Luke 42085 Posted October 28, 2017 Solution Posted October 28, 2017 @@e123enitan, it's not an issue, this is just what it costs to convert hevc on the fly. If you would like to avoid this, consider using an Emby app that can play HEVC without transcoding, or convert your video file to h264. 1
e123enitan 275 Posted October 28, 2017 Author Posted October 28, 2017 That is fine, I hardly use server for playing media, 99% of time it's Kodi Libreelec and it play fine no transcoding direct smb play from Nas. Thanks
